About Ruth

Ruth Wilsons professional achivements are many; as an elected member of the prestegious New Jersey Watercolor Society, American Artists Professional League, Garden State Watercolor Society, Salmagundi Art Club NY, Somerset Art Association, Raritan Valley Art Association and others; she has honored these organizations by receiving their top awards in local, state and national exhibitions. Her paintings are in many private and major corporations such as AT&T, Bristol Myers, Nassau Inn in Princeton NJ, recently a chateau in France, paintings for the United States Equestrian Team, Communication Media for Education and other notable institutions. Wilson is represented by numerous galleries in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and most recently Colorado. A Canadian born in St. John New Brunswick Canada, she resided in her formative years in Montreal and attended schools and colleges there. As a staff artist for Zellers LTD in Montreal she moved to Florida and worked for the John H. Perry Associates 'All Florida Magazine', then to new york city where she worked for Charm Magazine on their promotion staff before joining the staff of Velco Sales Corp. as advertising manager. However, with an extensive background in the arts she returned to the buying office of Frank, Miller and Weil where she covered the fashion field of 7th avenue as fashion consultant, during the era of the beautiful fashions of Jacqeline Kennedy. Haggertys of Beverly Hills beckoned her as their fashion co-ordinator for their many stores throughout California. Eventually, she returned to New York, working for a time as a fashion stylist for the firm of Christrtenson Studios prior to her marriage. She then moved to New Jersey where she became involved with numerous challenges in the art field and soon became president of the Raritan Valley Arts Association . Wilson soon became a recognized artist and a sought after instructor of over 30 students for many years, teaching privately and in other learning institutions . Her original art, prints and cards are carried by various stores in the Norhteast and recently her move to Colorado has inspired her to produce a Colorado Series.
